Fleet Assist™ Control Unit Software
This software is powerful and fully utilises the capacity of the 32bit computer driving the control unit. Depending on the permissions of the logged in user, the system interactively displays collected data, control settings and performs real time diagnostics. Rules defining the operations of the control units may be (re-)defined and loaded into memory. A list of drivers and access PINs are stored. Eight different license levels give the Operations Manager full control over who may drive what truck. This may be further restricted to trucks within their own department or any truck on site or a combination of the two.
As standard, up to 300 drivers can be entered in each control unit, although if required this may be increased to over 1200. Updates to truck details, driver lists, menu structures and operating rules may be replaced as often as required.
As the control unit uses Flash Memory, the program itself can be updated easily when new updates are released.
Fleet Assist™ Control and Analysis Software
Fleet Assist™ Control and Analysis software has a simple user interface, but internally and functionally contains several modules. These modules are accessible from a single user interface frame, where depending in the requested action, the software ‘drops’ a form within the main program frame. Control buttons and menu options are automatically adjusted for the current operation, depending on the user access rights.
The four modules embedded in the software are
- File Maintenance, for the management of trucks and drivers
- On line enquiries, which may also be printed
- Standard printed reports, which may also be viewed on the screen
- Data Transfer, allowing data to be between the trucks' Fleet Assist Control Unit and the Fleet Assist software running on a computer.
The control and enquiry options are extensive, allowing data to be analysed for each single truck or single event, but can also be analysed by any time period, truck group, location, truck or driver or any combination thereof. This gives the Operations Manager not only full control over individual trucks but also assists in the planning and controlling of all materials handling equipment at Truck Category, Department Location and at Group level. Performance of the various groups can be compared and the efficiencies and utilisation can be monitored against predefined targets.
Analysis software supplied with the system runs on Microsoft Windows XP or 2000 platform.
Fleet Assist™ Base Station Software
This software is supplied with the Radio option. It fully automates the data collection from the Control Units fitted on the truck, and automatically transfers the data to the main database. Where a radio is used, no manual intervention is required at all. The time taken to transfer data depends on the frequency of downloading but with radio transmission it takes only a number of seconds to collect all data from the truck as each time the truck comes within range, the data is collected. It the trucks are permanently within range the system will poll each truck and process the downloads in predetermined priority.
Fleet Assist™ Rules Maintenance
This software module is not available to customers, but this service is provided by us. If there are changes in operations, additional requirements, or rules are to be added or deleted from the main system, we will determine the most efficient way of doing this and ensure existing controls and collected data retain their integrity. A new 'rules' control file will be issued to the customer and can be loaded into the new and existing trucks on site.
